People who understand both the research and the reality of everyday movement.
The Pevevu team is made up of educators whose backgrounds sit at the intersection of sport science, exercise psychology, and recreational coaching. What unites them is a shared belief: that the psychological principles underlying high-performance sport belong in the hands of anyone who moves, regardless of level or competitive intent.
Each educator brings their own lens to the material. Some come from academic research backgrounds. Others from years working with recreational athletes and adult fitness participants. Together, they create a series that is both intellectually grounded and practically accessible.
Marcus holds advanced qualifications in exercise science and has spent over a decade studying the motivational structures that support long-term physical activity. His work focuses on how psychological frameworks developed in elite sport translate to populations with no competitive goals. He created the Pevevu curriculum after noticing a consistent gap between what research knows about movement psychology and what recreational movers have access to.
He leads Sessions 01, 03, and 05 of the current series.
Sarah works at the intersection of behavioral science and recreational fitness. Her background includes years of practical coaching with adult movers across a wide range of experience levels, combined with formal study in behavior change theory. She is particularly interested in the role of identity in sustaining movement habits and how people narrate their own fitness journey.
Sarah leads Sessions 02 and 04 of the current series and contributes to the community discussion spaces between sessions.
James brings a background in rehabilitation psychology and recreational sport. He has worked extensively with people returning to physical activity after injury, illness, or extended breaks, and his approach to the psychology of return is grounded in both clinical understanding and lived experience as a recreational athlete himself.
He leads Session 06 and co-facilitates Session 05 with Marcus. James also handles the Q&A portions across the series.
Every concept presented in the Pevevu series is rooted in published research from sport psychology, exercise science, and behavioral science. Educators cite sources and distinguish between what research shows and what is interpretive.
Pevevu presents concepts and frameworks, not programs or plans. Participants are expected to apply ideas in ways that fit their own context. The series respects individual difference and does not offer a single path.
Sessions are designed to feel like informed conversations, not lectures. Educators ask questions. Participants reflect. The format respects the intelligence of adult learners who are capable of making their own decisions.
The Pevevu team is explicit about what this series is and is not. It is educational content. It is not therapy, clinical coaching, or medical advice. Educators are clear about the scope of what they are presenting.
